ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE POSITION OF FIRE OFFICER (ON CONTRACT ONLY)

Salary : Consolidated/fixed pay commensurate with qualifications and experience
Number of post : 01 (one)
Location : NID Ahmedabad
Age limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on the last date of submission of online application.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates must have at least one of B.Sc in Fire Safety / BE Fire / PG Diploma in Fire Safety and Hazard Management from a recognized Institute of repute with minimum 5 years of experience of Firefighting works at an organization having minimum 500 occupants. Working knowledge of computer is essential. Experience in Government department is preferable, though not necessary.

Job Description (includes):
The Fire Officer shall,
a) Oversee the implementation of firefighting measures and maintenance of the firefighting systems as per the National Building Code of India (NBC) 2016 norms.
b) Ensure maintenance of all the firefighting equipment in good working condition at all times.
c) Prepare fire orders and fire operational plans and get them promulgated.
d) Impart regular training to all the stakeholders in the use of firefighting equipment provided on the premises and conduct fire emergency evacuation drills periodically.
e) Keep proper liaison with the city fire brigade and AMC vendors.
f) Ensure that all fire precautionary measures are observed at the times.
g) Any other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the institute.

*Please note that above position is purely contractual for a period of 11 months only. Such contractual appointments come to an end on expiry of the eleven months period automatically. He/ She shall not have any right to claim any regular/ contractual job on completion of the contractual tenure with the institute.
